32nd Annual NY Brass Conference
April 16 and 17, 2004
Hosted by Purchase College State University of New York
With great enthusiasm we announce that the 2004 Brass Conference will be hosted by, Purchase College, State University of New York under the direction of the multi-talented Graham Ashton, Chair of Brass (host of the ITG's banner conference at Purchase in 2000). It's a thrill to not only convene at the Purchase Conservatory state-of-the-art music facilities (only 23 miles from NYC), but to collaborate with an outstanding team of artists who have the talent and experience to take the Conference to a new level. Leading the way is 2004 Honoree, Mark Gould, (Metropolitan Opera, Juilliard School), serving as co-artistic director this year.
The Evening Headliners will be presented by Purchase College at their prestigious Performing Arts Center: The "Salute to Mark Gould" on Friday will be marked with a Brass Spectacular Gala Concert conducted by Mark Gould. On Saturday evening we're delighted to "Salute" Boss Brass valve trombone virtuoso Rob McConell, accompanied by a NY dream band assembled by Jim Pugh.
